ARBITRAGE
A good hockey match requires good refereeing, and that's precisely why Den Bosch Hockey Club established an arbitration committee. Its mission is very simple:
To ensure the quality of refereeing, so that everyone can referee a match at their own level in such a way that both teams benefit and maintain enjoyment of the game.
What is arbitration?
Refereeing, also known as refereeing, is the process of ensuring a match runs smoothly in a fair and impartial manner. To do this effectively, clear agreements between the referees and the teams are essential. The most important agreement is, of course, adhering to the rules of the game, which can be found on the KNHB website. This website also contains briefings and other tips that can help you with refereeing. If you still have questions about the rules or would like some refereeing tips, please email arbitrage@hcdenbosch.nl.
Arbitration Committee
Within the hockey club, we have an arbitration committee that is responsible for appointing referees for matches and overseeing them. It's important that referees are assigned to the best possible team, based on their abilities, and that support is provided where needed. This is all done in a pleasant way to enhance the enjoyment of refereeing. The arbitration committee's objectives are therefore as follows:
- To create a more pleasant atmosphere at the club for whistling and being whistled;
- To increase the motivation of referees.
Coach
When coaching referees, we focus primarily on the following matters:
- Positioning (the referee's walking along);
- Way of whistling (active movement);
- Dare to whistle (be there);
- Cooperation between the referees;
- Advantage scheme (flow of the game).
Throughout the season, the referee committee will be on the pitches providing support. If you're struggling and would like more personalized guidance, please contact us at arbitrage@hcdenbosch.nl. We'll make sure we're present at one of your matches to support you.
